Highline Premier FC Intermediates is the third step on our player pathway and the first-time players play on a full-size field in 11-a-side soccer. Additionally, player commitment at this age group extends with an additional practice night added.
Teams in the 11v11 game learn how the system of play impacts roles, positions, and specific tasks of the individual within the 11v11 team environment. There is a higher expectation of decision making, speed of play, and physical fitness.
Teams compete in the Washington Premier League (WPL). WPL is a state and region-wide league sanctioned by US Club Soccer. Games are played on Saturdays or Sundays at locations locally, across the Puget Sound, and across the state.
Technical focus at training sessions emphasizes receiving, turning, ball striking, dribbling, passing, bent and aerial passes. Players at this age level must work to take initiative and be proactive. Players must start to develop ability to read and understand the game.
Our teams train in small groups three times a week with low player/coach ratios where players are encouraged to try new things, take risks, and make mistakes that lead to player learning and player development. Intermediate teams play 11v11 in 70 minute matches.
Our Coaching Leadership works closely with each coach and across age groups to communicate team development needs to find a Division in the Washington Premier League that meets the developmental needs of our players and teams.
Our coaches and staff work with players and families to review various aspects of player performance and develop a learning plan that meets the players where they are at developmentally.
*Financial Assistance (FA) is available to qualifying families via an online application during player registration. FA recipients may receive assistance with uniforms and team fees. For questions about FA, please email our Financial Assistance committee at financialaid@highlinepremier.com.
**HPFC is on a two-year uniform cycle. See
