Highline Premier FC High School Age Group is final step on our player pathway. Players at this age receive assistance with our Making the Team events and college recruiting software Next College Student Athlete (NSCA). Teams also may attend college showcase tournaments where players can connect with College Coaches.
Teams continue to play 11v11 format. At this stage, additional time is added to matches as players begin to mature physically. There is a higher expectation of competitiveness, decision making, speed of play, and physical fitness.
Teams compete in the Washington Premier League (WPL). WPL is a state and region-wide league sanctioned by US Club Soccer. Games are played on Saturdays or Sundays at locations locally, across the Puget Sound, and across the state.
Technical focus at training sessions emphasizes executing and receiving different types of passes, finishing techniques, and heading. Players at this age level must take responsibility for their development, physical fitness, and consistently demonstrate proper technical abilities.
Our teams train in small groups three times a week with low player/coach ratios where players are encouraged to try new things, take risks, and make mistakes that lead to player learning and player development. High School teams play 11v11 in 80-90 minute matches.
Our Coaching Leadership works closely with each coach and across age groups to communicate team development needs to find a Division in our league that meets the developmental needs of our players and teams.
Our coaches and staff work with players and families to review various aspects of player performance and develop a learning plan that meets the players where they are at developmentally.
